Materials
Fingering weight yarn, and crochet hook size 2.5 - 2.75 mm / C.
You may use any yarn of your choice, and a suitable hook.
Techniques used in this stitch
UK / US crochet term:
Chain Stitch – ch
Double crochet / Single crochet – dc/sc
Treble / Double crochet – tr/dc
Double treble / Triple crochet – dtr/tr
Front Post dc / sc – FPdc/sc
Back Post dc / sc – BPdc/sc
Shell: 3dtr/tr + 2ch + 3dtr/tr
Stitch – st
10 half treble / half double crochet puff stitch – Pff:
Yarn over, insert hook in ch ( or space of 2ch), yarn over, draw yarn through stitch.
Repeat preceding more 9 times (or 7 – 8 times if you use thick yarn).
Yarn over and draw yarn through loops of Pff ( you should have 2 loops on your hook).
Yarn over and draw yarn through 2 loops on hook.
Foundation Chain: Multiples of 8 + 4

Row 5: Make 3ch, 1tr/dc in dc/sc, * shell in space of 2ch, Pff in shell below; rep from*, shell in space of 2ch, 2tr/dc in last dc/sc below, turn.
Row 6: Make 1ch, 1dc/sc in first tr/dc below, * 1ch, 1FPdc/sc over each of next 3dtr/tr below, 5ch, 1BPdc/sc over Pff of row 3, 5ch, 1FPdc/sc over each of next 3dtr/tr below, 1ch; rep from *, 1dc/sc in third ch, turn.
Repeat rows 3 - 6 until you have reached your desired length.
