Row 1: skip 1ch and work 1dc/sc in next, * [ 2ch, skip 2ch, slt in next ] – make 2 times, 1ch, skip 1ch, slt in next, 2ch, skip 2ch, slt in next, 1ch, skip 1ch, slt in next, [ 2ch, skip 2ch, slt in next ] – make 2 times; rep from *, work 1dc/sc in last ch instead of making slt, turn.

Row 2 (RS): make 2ch, * work 1dc/sc in next space of 2ch, skip one space of 2ch and one space of 1ch, work shell into next space of 2ch:

Make 7ch and slt in space of 2ch, turn.

Make 3ch, skip 3ch and work 1dc/sc in each of next 4ch, turn.

[ Make 2ch, work 1dc/sc in back loop of each of next 4dc/sc below, 3ch, make slt in same space of 2ch, turn.

Work 3 ch, 1dc/sc in back loop of each of next 4dc/sc below.

Row 3: make 5ch and 1dtr/tr in first dc/sc, * 1ch, skip 3 rows (of textured dc/sc) of next shell and work slt in back loop of dc/sc of next row, [ 2ch, skip 1row, work slt in back loop of dc/sc of next row ] – repeat 3 more times until you have 4 spaces of 2ch, 1ch,

make 1dtr/tr + 1ch + 1dtr/tr in space of 1ch below; rep from *,

work 2dtr/tr in last space of 2ch instead of making 1dtr/tr + 1ch + 1dtr/tr, turn.

Row 4:

First shell.

Make 9ch, skip 2ch and work 1dc/sc in each of next 4ch, 3ch, make slt in space between two dtr/tr, turn.

Work 3 ch and 1dc/sc in back loop of each of next 4dc/sc, turn.

[ Make 2ch, work 1dc/sc in back loop of each of next 4dc/sc below, 3ch, make slt in same space between two dtr/tr, turn.

Repeat rows 3 - 6 until you have reached your desired length.
