Crochet long loop stitch pattern for a triangle shawl

This triangle crochet stitch pattern is a versatile design that can be worked using any thread or yarn. Most yarns have the recommended crochet hook size on the label. But you can play around with different options to get tighter or looser crochet fabric.

How to grow your triangle shawl pattern:

You can grow the shawl pattern for as long as you want. Simply repeat rows (given in diagram and step-by-step instructions) until you get the desired size of your shawl.

UK / US crochet term:

Chain stitch – ch

Double crochet / Single crochet – dc / sc

Treble / Double Crochet – tr / dc

Double treble / Treble – d.tr / tr

Long loop stitch with 3 dc /sc on top – l.l.st

Row 1: 6 ch, 9 tr/dc and 1 d.tr/tr in last ch, turn.

Row 2: 7ch, work long loop stitch with 3 dc /sc in next way:

* Yarn over hook, insert hook into next tr/dc and draw up a loop about 1 cm long;

rep from* 3 times.

Yarn over and draw through 8 loops,

yarn over and draw through 2 loops.

Insert hook into middle space of loop stitch (see photo below).

Work 3 dc/sc in this space.

Work 4 ch, 1 tr/dc in next st,

4 ch, 1 l.l.st, 4 ch, 1 tr/dc in ch, turn.

Work next steps:

"Beginning of left edge " : 5 ch, 4 tr/dc in tr/dc below, 1 dc/sc in space of 4 ch, 4 ch, 1 dc/sc in next space of 4 ch.

"Middle point 1": 9 tr/dc in tr/dc below, 1 dc/sc in space of 4 ch, 4 ch, 1 dc/sc in next space of 4 ch.

"Ending of right edge " : 4 tr/dc and 1 d.tr/tr in fifth ch below, turn.

Row 4:

Work next steps:

"Beginning of right edge" : 7ch, 1 l.l.st, 4 ch, 1 dc/sc in space of 4 ch.

"Middle point 2": 4 ch, 1 l.l.st, 4ch, 1 tr/dc in next st, 4 ch, 1 l.l.st, 4 ch, 1 dc/sc in space of 4 ch.

"Ending of left edge" : 4 ch, 1 l.l.st, 4ch, 1 tr/dc in ch, turn.

Edging:

Row 1: work like Row 5.

Row 2: 4 ch, * work over tr/dc: 1 tr/dc + 1ch; 1 dc/sc in space of 4 ch, 1 ch; rep from *, work 1 tr/dc in ch at the end of row, turn.

Row 3: 2 ch, work in each space of 1 ch between tr/dc : 1 dc/sc + 2 tr/dc + 1 dc/sc and in each space of 1 ch between tr/dc and dc/sc - 1dc/sc. At the end of row make 1dc/sc in ch.
