Crochet flower-puff stitch pattern for a triangle shawl

This triangle crochet stitch pattern is a versatile design that can be worked using any thread or yarn. Most yarns have the recommended crochet hook size on the label. But you can play around with different options to get tighter or looser crochet fabric.

How to grow your triangle shawl pattern:

You can grow the shawl pattern for as long as you want. Simply repeat rows (given in diagram and step-by-step instructions) until you get the desired size of your shawl.


Techniques used in this stitch

UK / US crochet term:

Chain stitch – ch

Double crochet / Single crochet – dc / sc

Treble / Double crochet – tr/dc

Double treble/ Treble – d.tr/tr

Puff stitch:

yarn over hook, insert hook into stitch (or ch) and draw yarn up 0,5 - 1 cm, *yarn over hook, insert hook into same stitch (or ch) and draw yarn up, repeat from*1 time, yarn over hook and draw through 6 loops ,yarn over hook and draw through all loops.

Row 1: 6 ch, 1 tr/dc in last ch, 3 ch, 1 dc/sc + 3 ch + 1 tr/dc + 3ch + 1 dc/sc in the last ch, 3 ch, 1 tr/dc + 1 d.tr/tr in the last ch, turn.

Row 2: 7 ch, 1 tr/dc in tr/dc below, 4 petals of flower:

Make 3 ch, work 1 incomplete puff stitch (yarn over hook, insert hook into ch and draw yarn up, *yarn over hook, insert hook into the same ch and draw yarn up, repeat from*1 time) in third ch.

Then work 1 incomplete puff stitch in second ch below (between tr/dc and dc/sc) and 1 incomplete puff stitch in next second ch below (between dc/sc and tr/dc).

Yarn over hook and draw through all loops. Make 1 ch.

3 ch, 1 puff stitch in space between three puff sts.
