Materials
Fingering weight yarn, and crochet hook size 2.5 - 2.75 mm / C.
You may use any yarn of your choice, and a suitable hook.
Techniques used in this stitch
UK / US crochet term:
Chain stitch – ch
Slip stitch - slt
Double crochet / Single crochet – dc/sc
Treble / Double crochet – tr / dc
Puff stitch – pff: yarn over, insert hook into ch, yarn over, draw yarn through stitch. Repeat preceding step four times. Yarn over and draw through all loops on hook.

Row 2: Make 3ch, skip first dc/sc, * 1tr/dc in each of next 5dc/sc below, skip dc/sc with leaves, 2tr/dc in next, 1tr/dc in each of next 7dc/dc below; rep from *, 1tr/dc in each of next 5dc/sc below, skip dc/sc with leaves, 2tr/dc in next, 1tr/dc in each of next 5dc/dc below, turn.
Row 3: Make 1ch, 1dc/sc in each of next tr/dc below, 1dc/sc in third ch, turn.
Row 4: Make 3ch, skip first dc/sc, * 1tr/dc in each of next 2dc/sc, make joining of first leaf: insert hook in top of leaf and in next dc/sc, make 1tr/dc.
Work 1tr/dc in each of next 2dc/sc, twist middle leaf 2-3 times and make 1dc/sc in space on top.
Skip 1dc/sc below, 1tr/dc in each of next 2dc/sc, make joining of second leaf (see first leaf), 1tr/dc in each of next 5dc/sc; rep from *, work 1tr/dc in each of next 3dc/sc ( instead in each of next 5dc/sc), turn.
Row 5: Make 1ch, * make 1dc/sc in each of next 6tr/dc below, make flower:
1dc/sc in dc/sc below, [ 3ch, 1pff in third ch from hook, 1ch, 1dc/sc in same dc/sc of previous row] – make 3 times.
Drop loop from your hook. Insert hook from front to back under the top 2 loops of first dc/sc of the group and grab the dropped loop. Pull it through the stitch.
Make 1ch, 1dc/sc in each of next 7tr/dc below; rep from *, work 1dc/sc in each of next 5tr/dc below ( instead in each of next 7tr/dc), 1dc/sc in third ch, don’t turn.
Row 6: Fasten to first dc/sc of row below and make 3ch, * 1tr/dc in each of next 5dc/sc below, 1tr/dc in ch, 1tr/dc in each of next 8dc/sc below; rep from *; work 1tr/dc in each of next 6dc/sc below, ( instead in each of next 8dc/sc), don’t turn.
Row 7: Fasten to third ch of row below and make 2ch, 1dc/sc in each of next 13tr/dc below, * make leaves (see row 1), make 1dc/sc in each of next 14tr/dc; rep from *, work 1dc/sc in each of next 13tr/dc ( instead in each of next 14tr/dc), turn.
Row 8: Make 3ch and skip first st, * 1tr/dc in each of next 12dc/sc below, skip dc/sc with leaves, 2tr/dc in next; rep from *, 1tr/dc in each of next 11dc/sc below, 1tr/dc in second ch, turn.
Row 9: Make 1ch, 1dc/sc in each of next tr/dc below, 1dc/sc in third ch, turn.
Row 01: Make 3ch, skip first dc/sc, 1tr/dc in each of next 2dc/sc, * 1tr/dc in each of next 7dc/sc, make joining of first leaf, 1tr/dc in each of next 2dc/sc, twist middle leaf 2-3 times and make 1dc/sc in space on top, 1tr/dc in each of next 2dc/sc, make joining of second leaf; rep from*, 1tr/dc in each of next 10dc/sc, turn.
Row 11: Make 1ch, * 1dc/sc in each of next 13tr/dc below, make flower; rep from *, 1dc/sc in each of next 12tr/dc, 1dc/sc in third ch, don’t turn.
Row 12: Fasten to first dc/sc of row below and make 3ch, * work 1tr/dc in each of next 12dc/sc, 1tr/dc in ch, 1tr/dc in next dc/sc; rep from *, work 1tr/dc in each of next 12dc/sc, don’t turn.
Row 13: Fasten to third ch of row below and make 2ch, * 1dc/sc in each of next 6tr/dc below, make leaves, make 1dc/sc in each of next 8tr/dc; rep from *, work 1dc/sc in each of next 6tr/dc ( instead in each of next 8,’tr/dc), turn.
Repeat rows 2 - 13 until you have reached your desired length.
