Crochet flower-popcorn stitch

Guide

Materials

Fingering weight yarn, and crochet hook size 2.5 - 2.75 mm / C.
You may use any yarn of your choice, and a suitable hook.


Techniques used in this stitch

UK / US crochet term:

Chain stitch – ch

Slip stitch – sl.st

Double crochet / Single crochet – dc/sc

Treble / Double crochet – tr / dc

Cluster of 4 Double trebles / Triples – cluster: *yarn over the hook 2 times, insert the hook in st (or space of 1c), yarn over the hook and pull it through the st (or space). Yarn over the hook and draw yarn through the first 2 loops on the hook. Repeat the preceding step one more time; rep from * 3 times more, yarn over the hook and draw yarn through all loops.

5 tr/dc Popcorn stitch - popcorn: work 5 tr/dc in the same stitch, drop the loop from your hook. Insert your hook from front to back under the top 2 loops of the first tr/dc of the group and grab the dropped loop. Pull it through the stitch.
