Guide

Materials

Fingering weight yarn, and crochet hook size 2.5 - 2.75 mm / C.
You may use any yarn of your choice, and a suitable hook.


Techniques used in this stitch

UK / US crochet term:

Chain stitch – ch

Slip stitch – sl.st

Double crochet / Single crochet – dc / sc

Double Treble / Treble – d.tr/tr

Triple Treble / Double treble – tr.tr/d.tr: yarn over the hook 3 times, insert the hook in space of chain. Yarn over the hook and pull the hook through space. You should now have 5 loops on your hook. Yarn over the hook and draw yarn through the first 2 loops on your hook. Repeat the preceding step until you have only 1 loop left on the hook.

Cluster of 3 Double treble / Treble - cl

Picot of 3ch - picot

Stitch - st

Back Post dc /sc – BPdc/sc: work like normal dc/sc but insert your hook from back to front between the the first and second stitches in the row below, and then from front to back again between the second and third stitches.

Motif.

Make 5ch and sl.st in last ch.

Round 1: 2ch, 8dc/sc in ring of 5ch, sl.st in 2nd ch.

Round 2: 5ch, *skip 2st, 1dc/sc In next, 4ch; rep from * 1 time, sl.st in 1st ch.

Round 3: 1ch, work in each of the next space of 5ch and 4ch: 1dc/sc, 6ch, 6tr.tr/d.tr, 6ch, 1dc/sc. Work sl.st in 1st ch at the end of the round.

Round 4: 6ch, *5ch, 1BPdc / BPsc over each of the next 6 tr.tr/d.tr, 5ch, 1d.tr/tr in space between two dc/sc below; rep from* 1 time, 5ch, 1BPdc / BPsc over each of the next 6 tr.tr/d.tr, 5ch, sl.st in 6th ch.

Round 5: Sl.st in space of 5ch, 1ch, * 6dc/sc in space of 5ch, 1dc/sc in each of the next 6 Bpdc/BPsc below, 6 dc/sc in space of 5ch, 3ch; rep from *1time, 6dc/sc in space of 5ch, 1dc/sc in each of the next 6 Bpdc/BPsc below, 6 dc/sc in space of 5ch, 2ch, 1dc/sc in 1st dc/sc of this round.

Round 6: 5ch, make 1 cluster of 2d.tr/tr in space of 2ch and dc/sc, *3ch, skip 6dc/sc, 1dc/sc in next st, picot, 1dc/sc in next, 5ch, skip 2st, 1dc/sc in next st, picot, 1dc/sc in next, 3ch, skip 6st, work 4 clusters with 3ch between in space of 3ch; rep from 1 time, 3ch, skip 6dc/sc, 1dc/sc in next st, picot, 1dc/sc in next, 5ch, skip 2st, 1dc/sc in next st, picot, 1dc/sc in next, 3ch, skip 6st, work 3 clusters with 3ch between in space of 2ch and 1dc/sc, 3ch, sl.st in 5th ch.

Round 7: 2 sl.st in space of 3ch, * 2dc/sc in space of 3ch, 5ch, 2dc/sc in space of 5ch, 5ch, 2dc/sc in space of 3ch, 5ch, 2dc/sc in next space of 3ch, 5ch, 1cluster + 5ch + 1cluster in next space of 3ch, 2dc/sc in next space of 3ch, 5ch; rep from * 2 times, sl.st in 1st ch.

Joining

Join motifs together in last round. Instead 5ch work 2ch, 1dc/sc in space of 5 ch of another motif, 2ch.

Middle part

Work for 1st round: 2 foundation ch, 9dc/sc in last ch and sl.st in 2nd ch.

For each of the next 2 rounds work 9dc/sc in the same last foundation ch.

Fasten off.
