Feel free to use any type of yarn (or even thread) for your project. Most yarns have the recommended crochet hook size on the label.
Techniques used in this stitch
Chain stitch – ch
Double crochet / Single crochet – dc / sc
Treble / Double crochet – tr / dc
Double treble / Treble – d.tr / tr
Shell - 3 tr/dc + 2 ch + 3tr/dc in the same stitch
Stitch - st
Make 18 foundation chains.
Row 1: 5 ch miss, shell in next ch, 1 dc/sc in next ch, 4 ch, 4 ch miss, shell in next ch, 2 ch, 2 ch miss, 1 tr/dc in next, 2 ch, 1 tr/dc in last ch, 5 ch, turn.
Row 2: 1 tr/dc in tr/dc below, 2 ch, 3tr/dc over 3 tr/dc of shell, shell in shell, 1 dc/sc in last tr/dc of shell below, 4 ch, shell in shell, 1 d.tr / tr in third ch at the end of row, 3ch, turn.

Row 3: shell in shell, 1 dc/sc in last tr/dc of shell below, 4 ch, shell in shell, 6 tr/dc (3 tr/dc over tr/dc of shell and 3 tr/dc over next tr/dc), 2 ch, 1 tr/dc in tr/dc below, 2 ch, 1 tr/dc in third ch, 5 ch, turn.
Row 4: 1 tr/dc in tr/dc below, 2 ch, 6 tr/dc, 3tr/dc over 3 tr/dc of shell, shell in shell, 1 dc/sc in last tr/dc of shell below, 4 ch, shell in shell, 1 d.tr / tr in third ch at the end of row, 3ch, turn.

Row 5: shell in shell, 1 dc/sc in last tr/dc of shell below, 4 ch, shell in shell, 12 tr/dc (3 tr/dc over tr/dc of shell and 9 tr/dc over next tr/dc), 2 ch, 1 tr/dc in tr/dc below, 2 ch, 1 tr/dc in third ch, 5 ch, turn.
Row 6: 1 tr/dc in tr/dc below, 2 ch, 12 tr/dc, 3tr/dc over 3 tr/dc of shell, shell in shell, 1 dc/sc in last tr/dc of shell below, 4 ch, shell in shell, 1 d.tr / tr in third ch at the end of row, 3ch, turn.

Row 7: shell in shell, 1 dc/sc in last tr/dc of shell below, 4 ch, shell in shell, 2ch, 1 tr/dc in last tr/dc of shell below, *2 ch, 2 st miss, 1 tr/dc in next; rep from* 4 times, 2ch, 1 tr/dc in tr/dc below, 2 ch, 1 tr/dc in third ch, 5 ch, turn.
Row 8: * 1 tr/dc in tr/dc below, 2 ch; rep from* 6 times, 1 tr/dc in first tr/dc of shell, shell in shell, 1 dc/sc in last tr/dc of shell below, 4 ch, shell in shell, 1 d.tr / tr in third ch at the end of row, 3ch, turn.

Row 9: shell in shell, 1 dc/sc in last tr/dc of shell below, 4 ch, shell in shell, 2 ch, 1 tr/dc in last tr/dc of shell, 2 ch, 1 tr/dc in tr/dc below, 5 ch, turn.
Repeat 2 – 9 rows until you have reached your desired length.
Finishing

There are 15 holes around the point. Work over each point: in first hole – 1dc/sc, in next 13 holes – 1 dc/sc + 3 tr/dc + 1 dc/sc, in last hole – 1 dc/sc.
