Crochet circle stitch

Guide

Feel free to use any type of yarn (or even thread) for your project. Most yarns have the recommended crochet hook size on the label.


Techniques used in this stitch

UK / US crochet term:

Chain stitch – ch

Double crochet / Single crochet – dc/sc

Treble / Double crochet – tr / dc

Font Post tr / Font Post dc – FPtr /dc

6 tr/dc decrease – 6dec : work 7 incomplete tr/dc, then yarn over and pull it through all lops on the hook.

2 tr/dc decrease – 2dec : work 3 incomplete tr/dc, then yarn over and pull it through all lops on the hook.

Stitch – st

Foundation Chain: Multiples of 10 + 3

Row 1: Skip 3ch, 1tr/dc in next ch, * 1dc/sc in each of the next 7ch, 1tr/dc in each of the next 3ch; rep from * , 1dc/sc in each of the next 7ch, 1tr/dc in each of the next 2ch, turn.

Row 2: Make 2 ch, 1dc/sc in second tr/dc below, * 3ch, 6dec over 7dc/sc below, 3ch, 1dc/sc in each of the next 3tr/dc below; rep from *, 3ch, 6dec, 3ch, 1dc/sc in tr/dc, 1 dc/sc in third ch, turn.

Row 3: Make 2ch, 1dc/sc in second dc/sc, * 7tr/dc in top of decrease st, 1dc/sc in each of the next 3dc/sc below; rep from *, 7tr/dc in top of decrease st, 1dc/sc in dc/sc below, 1dc/sc in second ch, turn.

Row 4: Make 3ch, skip 2 rows and work 1FPtr/dc over the tr/dc of next row below,

* 1dc/sc in each of the next 7tr/dc, skip 2 rows and work 1FPtr/dc over the each tr/dc of next row below; rep from * 1dc/sc in each of the next 7tr/dc, skip 2 rows and work 1FPtr/dc over the tr/dc of next row below, 1tr/dc in second ch, turn.

Row 5: Make 2ch, * 1dc/sc in each of the next 3st, 1tr/dc in each of the next 3st, 1dc/sc in each of the next 4st; rep from *. Last dc/sc work in third ch and turn.

Row 6: Make 3ch, 2dec over the next 3dc/sc below, 3ch, * 1dc/sc in each of the next 3tr/dc below, 3ch, 6dec over dc/sc below, 3ch; rep from *, 1dc/sc in each of the next 3tr/dc below, 3ch, 2dec over 3 dc/sc below, 1tr/dc in third ch, turn.

Row 7: Make 3ch, 3tr/dc in top of decrease st, * 1dc/sc in each of the next 3dc/sc below, 7tr/dc in top of decrease st; rep from * , 1dc/sc in each of the next 3dc/sc below, 3tr/dc in top of decrease st, 1tr/dc n third ch, turn.

Row 8: Make 2ch, * 1dc/sc in each of the next 3st, skip 2rows and make 1FPtr/dc over the each tr/dc of next row below, 1dc/sc in each of the next 4st; rep from *. Last dc/sc work in third ch and turn.

Row 9: Make 3ch, 1tr/dc in next st, * 1dc/sc in each of the next 7st, 1tr/dc in each of the next 3st; rep from * , 1dc/sc in each of the next 7st, 1tr/dc in next st, 1tr/dc in second ch, turn.

Repeat rows 2 – 9 until you have reached your desired length.

100% Wool yarn

Colors & rows: use the same sequence as for green & red color combination.
