Crochet mixed stitch #1

Guide

Materials

Fingering weight yarn, and crochet hook size 2.5 - 2.75 mm / C.
You may use any yarn of your choice, and a suitable hook.


Techniques used in this stitch

UK / US crochet term:

Chain stitch – ch

Slip stitch - slt

Double crochet / Single crochet – dc/sc

Treble / double crochet – tr /dc

Half treble / half double crochet – htr/hdc

Popcorn stitch of 7 dc/sc – popcorn st: work 7 dc/sc in the 2nd ch, drop the loop from your hook. Insert your hook from back to front under the top 2 loops of the first dc/sc of the group and grab the dropped loop. Pull it through the stitch.

Double treble / triple crochet – dtr/tr

Puff stitch – pff: yarn over, insert hook into space of 1ch, yarn over, draw yarn through stitch. Repeat preceding step 2 times. Yarn over and draw through all loops on hook.

Row 1: skip 1ch, 1dc/sc in next ch, * 3ch, skip 2ch, 2dc/sc in next ch; rep from *, 3ch and 1dc/sc in last ch, turn.

Row 2: make 4ch, * 1dc/sc in next space of 3ch, 3ch, 1 popcorn st in 2nd ch (of next 3ch), 3ch; rep from *, 1dc/sc in next space of 3ch, 3ch, 1 popcorn st in 2nd ch, 1ch, 1htr/hdc in last dc/sc below, turn.

Row 3: make 1ch and 1dc/sc in htr/hdc below, * 3ch, 2dc/sc in next space of 3ch; rep from *, 3ch, 1dc/sc in space of 4ch, turn.

Row 4: make 4ch, * 1 popcorn st in 2nd ch, 3ch, 1dc/sc in next space of 3ch, 3ch; rep from *, 1 popcorn st in 2nd ch, 3ch, 1dc/sc in last space of 3ch, 1ch, 1htr / hdc in last dc/sc below, turn.

Row 5: repeat Row 3.

Row 6: repeat Row 2.

Row 7: repeat Row 3.

Row 8: repeat Row 4.

Row 9: repeat Row 3.

Row 10: repeat Row 2.

Row 11: make 3ch and 1tr/dc in space of 1ch, * work 3tr/dc in next space of 3ch; rep from *, 2tr/dc in space of 4ch, turn.

Row 12: make 4ch and skip first 2tr/dc below, * 1tr/dc in next, 1ch, skip 1st; rep from*, make 1tr/dc in third ch and turn.

Row 13: make 3ch, [ 1tr/dc in space of 1ch, 1tr/dc in tr/dc below] – make 2 times, 1tr/dc in space of 1ch, * work 1tr/dc + heart: 1tr/dc in next tr/dc below, 7ch, skip 2ch and work 1slt in each of the next 5ch, 1ch.

Continue work on opposite side: skip 2st, 1dc/sc in next, 1htr/hdc, 1tr/dc.

Then work in last st: 4dtr/tr + 4ch + slt + 4ch, continue work on opposite side in the same last st: 4dtr/tr.

Then make 1tr/dc in next st, 1htr/hdc, 1dc/sc and slt in ch.

Insert hook into two loops of dc/sc and work slt.

[ 1tr/dc in space of 1ch, 1tr/dc in tr/dc below] – make 5 times, 1tr/dc in space of 1ch; rep from*.

Work 1tr/dc + heart in next tr/dc below, [ 1tr/dc in space of 1ch, 1tr/dc in tr/dc below] – make 2 times, 1tr/dc in space of 4ch, 1tr/dc in third ch, turn.

Row 14: make 3ch, 1tr/dc in each of the next tr/dc below, 1tr/dc in 3rd ch, turn.

Row 15: make 3ch, 1tr/dc in each of the next 6tr/dc below, make joining of the heart: turn, drop the loop from your hook, insert your hook through 2 loops of slt of heart, grab the dropped loop with your hook and pull it through the stitch, turn.

* 1tr/dc in each of the next 12tr/dc below, make joining of the heart; rep from *, 1tr/dc in each of the next 5tr/dc below, 1tr/dc in 3rd ch, turn.

Row 16: Repeat row 12.

Row 17: make 4ch, work triangle stitch: yarn over hook 2 times, insert hook into space of 1ch and work incomplete tr/dc (yarn over and pull through st, yarn over hook and draw yarn through first 2 loops on hook). Yarn over hook 1 time, insert hook into next tr/dc below and work incomplete tr/dc. Yarn over hook 1 time, insert hook into next space of 1ch and work incomplete tr/dc.

Yarn over hook and draw yarn through first 4 loops on hook, yarn over hook and draw yarn through all loops on hook.

Work 1pff in space between first 4ch of the row and triangle stitch.

* make 1 triangle stitch: begin in same space of 1ch as last incomplete tr/dc of previous triangle stitch,

work 1pff in space between two triangle stitches; rep from *.

Make 1dtr/tr in space of ch, 1dtr/tr in third ch, turn.

Row 18: make 1ch, work 1dc/sc in back loop of first two dtr/tr below, work 1dc/sc in back loops of each of next pff and triangle stitches, 1dc/sc in fourth ch, turn.

Row 19: make 1ch, 1dc/sc in first dc/sc below, * 3ch, skip 2st, 2dc/sc in next st; rep from *, 3ch and 1dc/sc in last dc/sc, turn.

Repeat rows 2 - 19 until you have reached your desired length.
